Beautyrest® Launches New Products at Las Vegas Market

New lines offer simplified brand architecture, build on Beautyrest’s legacy of innovation

(ATLANTA – Jan. 25, 2019) – The Beautyrest® brand, one of the industry’s leading mattress brands, is excited to premier its new products at this month’s Las Vegas Market. Featuring a simplified brand architecture, the 2019 Beautyrest portfolio will include new offerings within the Beautyrest Black®, Beautyrest Silver® and Beautyrest CompleteTM lines as well as the launch of the new Beautyrest Hybrid line and a new promotional Beautyrest line.

“Our goal for 2019 is to have a major impact on the retail landscape by being more consumer-centric in our overall approach, and this is evident in both our new product introductions and our marketing messages,” said Vice President, Beautyrest Marketing, Cara Finger. “We’ve structured our new lines with easy-to-understand step-up stories and model names that reinforce the benefits that each line offers; plus, we’re adopting an omnichannel marketing program so customers will have a consistent experience each time they encounter the brand. By pairing these efforts with benefits-driven messaging, we are making it simpler than ever for customers to realize how Beautyrest helps them Be More Awake.”

BEAUTYREST BLACK
Since its inception, Beautyrest Black has represented the culmination of Beautyrest’s greatest achievements in innovation and design, and 2019 marks the launch of a new Beautyrest Black line that continues this tradition. The new collection includes 12 new models offered in three luxury classes – dubbed L-ClassTM, C-ClassTM and K-ClassTM – with distinctive appearance, highly sophisticated engineering and unparalleled cooling and comfort.

With prices ranging from $1,799 to $3,899, the new Beautyrest Black line showcases T3 Pocketed Coil® Technology, an exclusive design that weaves three steel strands into one coil to absorb energy, reduce motion and provide exceptional resilience for support, durability and undisturbed sleep. The line also features BlackICETM 4.0 Technology, which uses four cooling methods in the brand’s most advanced temperature-management system for cooler, better sleep, as well as specially curated memory foams to reduce pressure points in the hips and shoulders. Select models include the new RightTempTM Memory Foam infused with highly conductive and strong carbon fiber for temperature management and durability.

Beautyrest Black continues to visually distinguish itself on the retail floor with a new sophisticated charcoal gray double-channel quilted border and a modern chevron pattern on the top of the mattress, which adds interest by creating the illusion of motion. L-Class models feature this top panel in a white background with gray pattern while C-Class and K-Class beds display the design in a gray background with white lines. All models also feature an updated medallion design with a simplified logo for a more modern look.

BEAUTYREST HYBRID
Beautyrest Hybrid is a new line designed with one goal in mind: a more conforming mattress. While Beautyrest established the hybrid mattress category in 2008, the 2019 Beautyrest Hybrid line will be the first stand-alone hybrid collection for the brand.

Priced from $999 to $2,299, the new Beautyrest Hybrid line leverages Beautyrest’s history within the hybrid category and features eight models, which rely on key technologies to help sleepers obtain their best rest. Beautyrest Hybrid features the world’s premier support system – its 1000 Series Beautyrest Pocketed Coil

Technology provides motion separation for undisturbed sleep, along with enhanced conforming properties and individualized back support. The exclusive ContourFitTM Design offers a superior stretch and recovery surface, which allows sleepers to engage more closely with pressure-relieving memory foams for deeper, easier sleep.

Models also incorporate one of three hybrid cooling technologies – InfiniCoolTM, a cool-to-the-touch fabric on the mattress sleeping surface; InfiniCool-Plus, which features two cool-to-the-touch layers, on the cover and just below the cover, to offer a cool sensation while falling asleep; or InfiniCool MAX, which pairs the cooling power of InfiniCool-Plus with a layer of RightTemp Memory Foam to pull heat away from the body during the night.

Select models include additional pressure-relieving comfort and support layers, including HD Memory Foam, Beautyrest Gel Memory Foam, Comfort ResponseTM Latex, or BackCare® 3X, a layer of 2,000 additional micro coils that provide triple the number of supporting coils for enhanced pressure relief and conforming comfort.

All Beautyrest Hybrid models are guaranteed to offer lasting comfort, with the line’s warranty reflecting a 3⁄4” impression tolerance. Aesthetically, models feature a chevron pattern on the top panel that ties it to the new Beautyrest Black line but uses lighter gray and yellow tones for a distinct look.

NEW BEAUTYREST SILVER LINE
Premiering this January are 13 Beautyrest Silver models ranging in price from $699 to $1,099. All mattresses in the line focus on offering increased durability, a fresh and cool sleep environment, and pressure-relieving comfort.

Designed to be 15 percent more durable than previous Beautyrest Silver mattresses, the 2019 Beautyrest Silver line includes the world’s premier support system with 900 Series Beautyrest Pocketed Coil Technology, which is paired with either DualCoolTM or DualCool Plus Technologies to maintain comfort during sleep. DualCool Technology keeps the mattress fresh and cool through an antimicrobial performance layer that moves heat and moisture away, while DualCool Plus Technology adds a moisture-wicking technology to the cover to create a comfortable sleeping environment.

Select models also feature Dynamic ResponseTM Memory Foam, which has a supportive and unique feel to optimize every move with conforming back support, or GelTouch® Foam for soothing comfort with exceptional surface contouring and conformability.

BEAUTYREST COMPLETE ADJUSTABLE BASES
For 2019, Beautyrest is introducing three new adjustable bases in its Beautyrest Complete product line, building upon the collection’s original pillow, pillow cover and mattress cover offerings. This new adjustable base lineup enables customers to complete their sleep system at any price point with distinct feature sets.

Priced at $499, $799 and $1,699, the Beautyrest Complete adjustable bases are distinctly different, catering to specific customer needs. Base offerings include:

  • The Beautyrest Simple Motion Base provides basic motion functions, such as head and foot elevation, which are controlled via wireless remote. This $499 model features a slim profile with single-height legs as well as an attractive performance mesh fabric.
  • The Beautyrest Advanced Motion Base pairs motion with convenience. This $799 model has a slim profile, massage, USB charging ports and Zero-G preset position. Choose from one of three leg heights or remove the legs for use in a platform bed for added flexibility.
  • The Beautyrest Black Luxury Base includes beautiful styling along with modern luxury extras. Featuring a furniture-like sleek profile and upholstery-like woven fabric, this $1,699 base marries perfectly with any Beautyrest Black mattress. Natural movements like full head tilt, adjustable lumbar and extended recline are designed to cradle and support more naturally than other bases in any lounge position. The Beautyrest Black Luxury Base is also smart home-enabled, so all of its features, like under-bed lighting, can be controlled through Amazon Echo and Google Home.

BEAUTYREST
The new Beautyrest line offers the peaceful, undisturbed rest that accompanies Pocketed Coil Technology to those who desire value along with quality sleep. Priced at $399 to $699, the line’s seven models offer the world’s premier support system at attainable price points, with 800 Series Pocketed Coil Technology that reduces partner disturbance up to 40 percent when compared with an open-coil mattress.

All models include DualCool Technology to maintain an ideal sleep temperature, while Gel Memory Foam Lumbar Support or GelTouch Foam is available in certain models.

Tomorrow Sleep Partners with CB2 for First Brick-and-Mortar Experience

New York, NY, June 28 — Thursday, June 28th, Tomorrow Sleep’s hybrid mattresses will be available for purchase in CB2 stores nationwide. The American home retailer will be selling twin, full, queen and king-size Tomorrow Sleep mattress in medium soft and medium firm in 13 stores across 9 states.

Born as a subsidiary of mattress expert Serta Simmons Bedding, Tomorrow is new to the growing bed-in-a-box industry, but their rapid expansion and high-customer ratings have made them one of the top contenders in the race to capture direct-to-consumer mattress sales.

This is the first time the one-year-old sleep e-tailer has partnered with a brick-and-mortar company to deliver in-store trials and purchases. “A lot of our customers are looking for a way to try our mattress before they buy it,” says Tomorrow Sleep Founder and President Bryan Murphy. “At CB2 people can finally experience the comfort and quality of our hybrid mattress IRL.”

Born out of Crate & Barrel, CB2 offers stylish home essentials and versatile decor to create environments that complement every lifestyle. “CB2’s sleek, modern aesthetic is a great fit for the Tomorrow mattress” says Tomorrow Sleep Senior Brand Director Anna-Karin Loureiro, “We couldn’t be happier with CB2 being our first retail partner.”

With more DTC  brands expanding into brick-and-mortar retail, partnering with CB2 is a natural progression for the young company . “It’s a matter of being in the right place at the right time,” Murphy says. “We can’t imagine a better scenario than providing CB2 shoppers the convenience of pairing their new bed frame with the mattress of their dreams and we’re so grateful that we get to provide that.”

Wake Up America, It’s Time to Challenge Your Comfort

Serta Ignites Comfort Conversation Asking People to Share

What Makes Them Extremely Comfortable and Win #SertaComfortable Mattress

As the No. 1 Mattress Manufacturer, Serta Says: “Don’t Settle for ‘Sorta’ Comfortable”

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (June 19, 2018) – Named the No. 1 mattress manufacturer for the eighth year in a row1, no one knows comfort better than Serta. Its new ad campaign states Serta believes no one should settle for something “sorta” comfortable, that’s why Serta is asking people to share how they get extremely comfortable with #SertaComfortable on Instagram for a chance to win an iComfort Hybrid Serta Mattress and other prizes every day for a week.

Earlier this year, the brand launched a new exciting advertising campaign “Not just sorta comfortable. Serta comfortable,” building on Serta’s long-standing delivery of unmatched comfort.  The campaign rolled out with digital support and is currently airing on television.  The bigger “comfort campaign” and call-to-action extends Serta’s position as the best-selling U.S. mattress manufacturer raising the bar when it comes to comfort through its product offering and benefits.

We’re igniting the conversation on Instagram and will pay off on comfort the rest of the year in surprising ways. We don’t want anyone to settle for something “sorta” comfortable… especially when it comes to their mattress.”  said Warren Kornblum, interim chief marketing officer at Serta Simmons Bedding

Anna Camp of Pitch Perfect fame, and currently filming The Wedding Year will be on site and start the conversation by sharing what makes her “extremely comfortable.”  “Balancing a busy career and personal life, I try to make things as comfortable as possible,” she said. “Whether it’s letting my cute pug lick my face, or my husband give me a foot massage after wearing high heels at a red-carpet event, this is what I call #SertaComfortable.”

As the leader in mattress technology, Serta will also participate at the ninth-annual VidCon conference at the Anaheim Convention Center from June 21–23. Attendees can share photos and videos from the gigantic Serta comfortable bed and enter the Instagram sweepstakes.

Beautyrest Urges Consumers to Be More Awake

ATLANTA, May 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Beautyrest®, a leader in the mattress industry, will launch its new Be More Awake campaign on May 14th, which highlights the impact sleep has on our waking success and challenges consumers to rethink the role the mattress plays in our everyday lives. Each element in the campaign emphasizes the direct connection between the power of sleep and our ability to reach our full potential.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t47Xs6guxQw

The new multi-media campaign, which includes national TV spots, social and digital content, showcases how people have become accustomed to accepting insufficient sleep. Through visceral elements and bold imagery, the new campaign underscores the value of a premium mattress in making you more present, focused and energized the next day. Building excellent mattresses is something Beautyrest has been perfecting for close to 150 years through its research, continued innovation and development of unparalleled mattress technologies.

“The Be More Awake campaign reminds consumers that in order to reach their full personal potential, they need a mattress with advanced technology, and one that fits their individual needs,” said Warren Kornblum, chief marketing officer at Serta Simmons Bedding. “The Beautyrest brand, along with our retail partners, is uniquely positioned to guide consumers through the purchase journey to find their own best mattress. We don’t believe that one mattress design fits all people. Ultimate restorative sleep can only be achieved by sleeping on the perfect mattress for you and that is likely not the same one that’s perfect for me. It’s time to talk about the elements that make up an exceptional sleep experience rather than one-size-fits-all.”

To further emphasize the impact an optimal sleep experience can have on one’s waking success, the brand has engaged in a partnership with renowned composer Max Richter. Beautyrest is bringing Max Richter’s SLEEP, an eight-hour lullaby that explores the restorative journey our bodies experience at night, to North America. The immersive, overnight concert experience developed in tandem with a neuroscientist premiered in the U.S. in Austin, TX in March, and now makes its way to New York City, May 4th and 5th. Attendees in both cities experience this one of-a-kind concert on Beautyrest mattresses, not concert seats, embarking on this unique musical journey from the comfort of a superb mattress.

“The opportunity to partner with Max Richter is a perfect fit for the Beautyrest brand,” said Kornblum. “We both recognize that sleep is an active state where restorative forces are at work overnight preparing us to be our best selves the next day, and what better way to communicate our unrivaled mattress technology than by allowing people to experience it first-hand…for eight hours.”

In addition to the break-through Be More Awake campaign and Max Richter SLEEP partnership, Beautyrest will continue to elevate the sleep conversation through its continued partnership with Dr. Rebecca Robbins, a sleep researcher at NYU, whose career is centered around generating awareness about the importance of sleep and its impact on the next day. “My personal career mission is to promote awareness about the link between our sleep and waking success – in all aspects of life,” said Dr. Robbins. “Studies show that optimal sleep has a plethora of benefits, including increased productivity and resilience during the day, an ability to retain more information and much more, which is why the story Beautyrest is telling about being more awake is so important.”

Beautyrest is also committed to supporting charitable organizations, because the brand believes quality sleep should be accessible to everyone. Along with partner Universal Music Group, Beautyrest will be donating upwards of 300 mattresses after all three shows to people in need. In New York City, the mattresses will be donated to the Pajama Program to support families and children in the five boroughs. In Austin, the mattresses were donated to both SAFE Austin and the Austin Disaster Relief Network.

Second Facility to Open as Part of $100 Million Manufacturing Investment

Windsor Locks, Conn. (April 11, 2018) – Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC (“SSB”), the largest manufacturer and distributor of mattresses in North America, has announced the opening of its new plant in Windsor Locks, Conn. The new plant is home to more than 240 employees, many of whom transferred from its former plant in Springfield, Mass.

The move comes as part of SSB’s plans to expand its manufacturing footprint and support increased consumer demand for its two best-selling brands in the U.S., Serta® and Beautyrest®.

“We’re excited to have opened a new, larger facility in Windsor Locks, which is an important step in our strategy to increase manufacturing capacity,” said Michael Traub, CEO of Serta Simmons Bedding. “By introducing new technology, adding headcount and moving to larger facilities, we’re better positioned to support our retail partners’ great consumer demand in the Northeast region.”

In addition to Windsor Locks, SSB has recently opened new, larger plants in Houston, Texas, and Moreno Valley, Calif., and plans to open a new plant in Seattle, Wash. later this year. Beautyrest Presents: Max Richter’s Sleep Set To Make Its North American Debut At SXSW

The entire album will be made available for the first time to digital streaming partners on March 16, “World Sleep Day”

“Many of these pieces conjure dreamy states, where ideas seem fluid and flexible and the world around you seems somehow softer.”

-Pitchfork

“The music is at times so soft and trance-inducing that you can’t help but slip into a relaxed state.””

-Wall Street Journal

March 9, 2018 (New York, NY) – Composer Max Richter will give the North American debut concert of SLEEP made possible by premiere sponsor Beautyrest® and secondary sponsor Philips on March 12 at SXSW in Austin, TX. Beautyrest mattresses will replace traditional concert seating so attendees can immerse themselves into the eight-hour overnight SLEEP experience. Doors open at 11pm on March 12 at Bass Hall and the concert ends at 8:30AM on March 13. Admission is open to SXSW Platinum and Music badges only.

The landmark work SLEEP was released on Deutsche Grammophon in 2015 to great critical acclaim. The eight-hour long piece is intended to send the listener to sleep; “the music is at times so soft and trance-inducing that you can’t help but slip into a relaxed state,” commented the Wall Street Journal. Scored for piano, strings, electronics and vocals, it’s Richter’s “personal lullaby for a frenetic world,” he explains, and “a manifesto for a slower pace of existence.”

After being performed in Berlin, London, Sydney, Madrid, Zürich, Paris and Amsterdam, SLEEP will finally receive its North American concert premiere at SXSW. Universal Music Group and Brands (UMGB), the brand activation unit of Universal Music Group, brought together top-tier brands to elevate this traditional concert experience.

“One of the most pervasive misconceptions of sleep is that it’s simply our bodies ‘turning off,’” said Warren Kornblum, interim Chief Marketing Officer, Serta Simmons Bedding. “Together with Max Richter, Beautyrest is celebrating sleep as an active state, when we restore and repair our bodies overnight in order to reach our full potential tomorrow. At Beautyrest we are dedicated to continued innovation and have been researching sleep and developing unparalleled mattress technology for close to 150 years. And we know that only when we achieve optimal sleep can we be our best awake selves.”

Following the event, Universal Music Group and Beautyrest will donate all mattresses to local Austin-based charities SAFE and Austin Disaster Relief Network.

Additional experiential enhancements will come courtesy of Philips, a global leader in health technology with nearly 40 years of deep clinical expertise in sleep. “We’re particularly interested in what Max has achieved with SLEEP because it aligns with our latest sleep innovations,” says Dr. David White, Chief Scientific Officer at Philips. “Sound and tone interventions during the deepest stage of sleep (called slow-wave sleep) have been shown to enhance slow wave activity, leading to better quality sleep and improved daytime alertness. We’re making strides in this area of research to continue the advancement of our sleep solutions.”

Max Richter stands as one of the most influential figures on the contemporary music scene, producing ground-breaking work as a recording artist, composer, pianist, and collaborator. He is best known for his genre-defining solo albums including The Blue Notebooks, Memoryhouse, Songs From Before, Infra, Three Worlds: Music from Woolf Works and the eight-hour epic SLEEP. His 2012 record Recomposed By Max Richter: Vivaldi, The Four Seasons topped the Classical charts in 22 countries.

Richter has written widely for ballet, opera, and film, his recent projects including Three Worlds: Music from Woolf Works for The Royal Ballet, Hostiles, directed by Scott Cooper, Miss Sloane, directed by John Madden, Black Mirrors ‘Nosedive’ directed by Joe Wright and Taboo for Tom Hardy, which earned him an Emmy nomination. His music is also featured in Damon Lindelof’s cult HBO series The Leftovers, Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island, Ari Folman’s Waltz With Bashir and as the opening and end theme in Denis Villeneuve’s Oscar-winning film Arrival.

In celebration of “World Sleep Day” on March 16th, SLEEP will be made available for the first time to digital streaming partners. SLEEP is released by the legendary classical label Deutsche Grammophon, which is distributed by Verve Label Group in the United States. The Verve Label Group (VLG), a division of Universal Music Group based in New York City, is home to many of the most acclaimed artists in Jazz and Classical music, while also strongly focused on championing emerging talent across all genres.
